One of the hardest calls a mother gets at 2:00 in the morning is the one where your child is saying they’ve messed up and could you come bail them out. I suspect I was incredibly lucky that the bail bonds office I called was on the up and up. The bondsman sat me down, got me a cup of coffee and calmly explained what a bail bond was and the next steps I had to follow.

So off to the jail I went to speak to my incarcerated child about what he did to get jailed and if he gets bail he would be required to go to court. Hopefully I scared him enough to behave.
